Over the last couple of weeks the Trust has been establishing itself in the new Visitor Centre. The amount of paraphernalia we’ve collected for our events and the day-to-day running of the Trust is quite something! But we’ve been able accomodate it all in the new building, which has two mezzanine floors either side of the central meeting room.
Snagging has just started and we still need the contractors to tidy the car park. We will start work on the garden next week, when the specimen plants arrive. We also want to include a small herb garden and also have a small surprise that we’ll make you aware of in due course! We will take our time to think about what we do with the area to the rear of the building as we want to get it right.
The only hiccup relates to telecoms as we still don’t have a telephone connection or broadband. Hopefully, the provider will finally sort themselves out shortly, but in the meantime, please bear with us. Overall, we are extremely proud of our new home and believe it will serve the Trust and the community well for many years to come. It is so much better suited for out work than West Lodge, which is now undergoing a significant refit to return it to its former splendour as a residential dwelling.
