St Albans City & District Health Walks in Highfield Park

St Albans, Harpenden & Villages Health Walks programme is part of a countrywide initiative of free, led walks, which aims to help everyone get outdoors, get more active and reap the benefits.

Highfield Park is one of the venues for Health walks in Hertfordshire. They take place on Mondays at 9.30am and Tuesdays at 1.30pm, meeting at the car park on Russet Drive, (opposite Spar), AL4 0DB.

Health walks are an ideal way of taking exercise:

  • Suitable for all ages and abilities
  • Local, short and free
  • Sociable – walk in groups and meet new people
  • Strengthen your heart, muscles and bones
  • Good for you wellbeing – de-stress and increase your confidence

The walks cater for all abilities and are graded; there are two grades at Highfield:

First steps – 20 – 30 minutes walk on flat and even ground, gentle pace, no stiles and regular stops.

Easy /moderate walk – 45 minutes – 1 hour between 2-3 miles moderate hills, there may occasionally be stiles.
