Highfield Tark Trust really appreciates the support it receives from it many volunteers who give up their free time to help us achieve our charitable objectives.

Here are just some of the different ways that you can help us:

Highfield Helpers

Highfield Helpers are a friendly group of volunteers who help us care for and maintain Highfield Park. Volunteering is a great way to spend time outdoors, meet new people, learn new skills, keep active and support a local charity.

Our volunteers help with a variety of practical conservation and maintenance activities throughout the park. No previous experience is necessary, as guidance, training and supervision are provided by our experienced park staff.

When do we meet?

Every Tuesday, from 9.30am at the Visitor Centre, Hill End Lane (opposite Frobisher Road). Volunteers can stay for part or all of the day, up to 3.30pm.

Tea and coffee are provided. If you’re staying all day, please bring a packed lunch.

How do I become a Highfield Helper?

To make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable volunteering experience, we ask all new volunteers to complete a short application form and have an informal chat with a member of our team.

Successful applicants are then invited to a group induction, where they’ll learn more about the Trust, the park, the activities they’ll be helping with and important health and safety information.

Once induction is complete, volunteers can join our regular Tuesday sessions.

Corporate Volunteering

Would you love a day away from your usual work place?

The Trust welcomes local companies to spend a day volunteering in the Park. Bringing your work force to the Park is an excellent way for reducing stress, rewarding your staff, motivating people and getting different teams to integrate better.  Plus your company also gets to support a local charity and improve the environment.

Helping at our Events

We run a number of events throughout the year and always appreciate some extra help to lighten the load. Our events are busy, hard work, but great fun.

Whatever your skills, we would appreciate your support! You can do as much or as little as you feel comfortable with and we would love to hear from you.
