St Albans Karate Club

St Albans Karate Club normally train at YMCA gym, but as it is currently closed the Trust has agreed that they can use the sunken garden area adjacent to the gym, for training on Saturdays between 1 – 4pm. They will operate within the current Government and Karate Association guidelines and within the bounds of their risk assessment to ensure everyone is safe. The area will be cordoned off while they are there.

Established in 1991, St Albans Karate Club is affiliated with the English Shotokan Karate Association (ESKA) led by 9th Dan Hanshi Michael Nursey.

The Club is run by senior instructor Sensei Graeme Main (5th Dan), Sensei Jo Alexander (3rd Dan), Andre De Roy (2nd Dan) and an army of willing volunteers

Over the 25 year history, the club has grown and is extremely proud of its family-friendly approach to training with numerous mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, siblings training alongside each other.
