Addition of new Apple Trees

“As a result of a grant from PTES (Peoples Trust for Endangered Species) and a very kind donation we are able to plant 15 apple trees to fill some gaps. These will be traditional varieties: Brownlees Russet, Cottered Apple, Keeling Apple, King of Tompkins County, Melon, Hormead Pearmain, Hitchin Pippin. They are all grafted on to M111 rootstock which is vigorous and well adapted allowing the trees to reach near full size and will be tolerant of wet, dry or poor soils, and allow the trees to bear fruit at a young age. These were purchased from Bernwode Fruit Trees who specialize in growing traditional varieties.”
