Yellow Brain Fungus

Also known as Witches’ Butter it is a striking jelly-like fungus with a bright yellow to orange, gelatinous body that often resembles a convoluted brain. It grows up to about 7.5 cm across and 2–5 cm high, feeling jelly-like when wet but hardening and shrinking to a dark reddish-orange crust in dry conditions, only to rehydrate and plump up again with moisture.
