The St. Albans Town and Country Festival started in 2015 and seems to improve ever year. The event is organised and managed by the team at Quintessentially British Events, who take over the Cricket Field for a whole weekend in summer. Tickets are available online in advance or on the gate. The “front” field is used as free car park using this event which attacts thousands of visitors during the weekend.
The team vary their offering every year and indeed, there are usuable changes throughout the weekend. There is always a main showring with motorbike, horse and dog demonstrations. There is also a dedicated dog show within the events and many different catergories and breeds to see. Please bring your own dog and get involved. The focus is on fun and let’s lots to keep the admirers of the cannine world entertained for ages. Around the showring, there are many stalls, each offerings their wares. This area normally hosts a celebrity chef who will give cookery demonstrations throughout the weekend and be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
There is also a food court where you can buy a wide range of street food and it you’re lucky be entertained by the singing chef, who is quite remarkable! There are plenty of rides to keep the chidren entertained, plus displays of reptiles and birds of prey. The list just goes on and on! The event is also attended by our local favourites including the model railway and Signalling Box.
The team are taking a break in 2019 but we hope to see them back in 2020.
