New footpath for Highfield Park after receiving funding from the Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund

A grant from the Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund has enabled a popular Hertfordshire park to make significant repairs to a deteriorating public footpath.

The Highfield Park Trust was awarded funding of £15,000 from the Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund to complete the repairs, which have made a significant improvement in ensuring the park is fully accessible for all park users.

The trust would like to thank everyone who has contributed to achieving this funding, especially Daisy Cooper MP, Dreda Gordon and Cllr. Anthony Rowlands for their letters of support and Tim Abbott and Richard Bull who have spent many hours working on this project. It is great to finally see it completed and an excellent result for the Highfield Park Trust in our 25th anniversary year.

A spokesperson for Tarmac said: “We are pleased to have been able to support the Highfield Park Trust with this project and hope the footpath is enjoyed by local residents for many years to come.”
