Oak Processionary Moth

Oak Processionary Moth (OPM) has been identified in Highfield Park.

OPM is established in most of Greater London and in some surrounding counties. The remainder of the United Kingdom (UK) is designated as an area free from the pest with special restrictions on movements of oak plants to minimise the risk of introducing OPM to new areas

The caterpillars and nests can cause irritation to people and animals.

Please do not touch them and keep dogs away.

If you spot caterpillars or nests like those shown in the photograph, please keep your distance and report the location to the Visitor Centre.
