Celebrate our 30th Anniversary with us
This year will be a milestone year for Highfield Park Trust.
We were formed on the 2nd May 1996 and will celebrate our 30th anniversary this year.
Thirty years of looking after what is now an 82-acre green space full of woodlands, meadows, orchards, ponds, and gardens, formed from the grounds of Hill End and Cell Barnes hospitals. Now a much-loved place for wildlife, group activities, walking, and community life.
Thirty years of managing to our simple but ambitious charitable objectives.
To maintain a sustainable public park for the benefit and enjoyment of the people of St Albans.
This includes:
- Protecting and enhancing the landscape
- Providing facilities for recreation and wellbeing
- Supporting education, volunteering, and community engagement
- Preserving the site’s historical legacy
We consider ourselves as a guardian of green space, at a time when access to nature is shrinking.
- We focus on wellbeing, community connection, and environmental stewardship.
- We aim to ensure the park remains a long‑term asset for local people, preserving both its natural beauty and its layered history.
We are very excited in making the most of our 30th anniversary with more of our fun events on offer to help celebrate. Come and join in.
Boules and Bubbles will combine a game of petanque—now quite a trendy night out in London circles—with a glass or two of prosecco.
On the actual anniversary of the formation of Highfield Park Trust. our early morning Sunrise Walk will involve a walk around the park with breakfast back at the Visitor Centre.
And we plan on a lasting legacy to thirty years with our fundraiser for the Mediterranean Garden Revamp. If you would like to donate to our fundraiser, click the yellow donate button on our home page.
