Sport in the Park
During the summer there is archery on the cricket field organised by Elswood Bowmen Archery Club. If you’re interested in joining and learning how to become an archer then please contact Richard Philpott on 01707 691 645, mobile 07722 899965 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Within the Mediterranean Garden there are two boules courts. The courts don’t need to be booked and if you don’t have a set of boules sets can be loaned from the Park Office for FREE, although a refundable deposit of £10 is needed. You can of course bring your own boules along and play with family or friends, picnic tables are close by.
If you are interested in forming a boules team and take part in a social league then e-mail the Park Office and we will set up a database of interested people/teams and bring you together.
There are seven football pitches. The Trust worked in partnership with the Football Foundation, St Albans City Youth Football Club (SACYFC) and St Albans District Council to restore the playing fields and provide a new sports pavilion. St Albans City youth Community Football Club have priority use of the pitches but they can be hired on Saturday afternoon or mid-week by other Clubs. For further information contact the Trust.
